Evaluations
The SRLC offers two kinds of evaluations. Psycho-educational evaluations, for individuals ages six and half (in second semester of 1st grade) through adult, are performed by licensed psychologists, Dr. Jill Chrisman, Dr. Sarah Schnoebelen, Dr. Julia Hoke and Dr. Lynn Henton. In addition, Susan Weber and Jamie Putnam, speech/language pathologists, administers speech, language, and literacy evaluations for four and five year olds. Children from all over Texas are evaluated at the Center.
Psycho-educational Evaluations
The psycho-educational testing appointments last about four and a half to five hours and are given Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. A written report and follow-up meeting will be scheduled approximately three weeks after the testing. The Learning Center tests a variety of abilities, including intelligence, oral language, visual and motor performance, phonological processing and academic skills with an emphasis on reading. Speech, Language, and Literacy Evaluations
If you have a 4 or 5 year old who is starting to exhibit signs of language learning deficits, the speech, language and literacy evaluation will facilitate early identification and intervention for language learning differences. The speech, language, and literacy evaluations last about two hours. A written report and follow-up will be scheduled approximately three weeks after the testing. Appointments for this evaluation are available on Wednesdays. Download Evaluation Information.
