Evaluations

The SRLC offers two kinds of evaluations.  Psycho-educational evaluations, for individuals ages six to adult, are performed by Dr. Lynn Henton and Dr. Julia Hoke, both licensed psychologists.  In addition, Dr. Sharon Doss, speech/language pathologist, administers speech, language, and literacy evaluations for four and five year olds.  Children from all over Texas are evaluated at the Center.

The psycho-educational testing appointments last about four hours and are given on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  A written report and follow-up meeting will be scheduled approximately three weeks after the testing.  The Learning Center tests a variety of abilities, including intelligence, oral language, visual and motor performance, phonological processing and academic skills with an emphasis on reading.  Click here for more information.

If you have a 4 or 5 year old who is starting to exhibit signs of language learning deficits, the speech, language and literacy evaluation will facilitate early identification and intervention for language learning differences. Appointments for this evaluation are available on Wednesdays. Click here for more information.
